Pinecoon Maine Coons has been a full breeder member of MCBFA (the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association) since 1990. MCBFA is a cross-registration, worldwide association of Maine Coon breeders and fanciers whose stated goal is "the promotion and protection of the Maine Coon Cat". MCBFA breeder members must sign and adhere to a strict code of ethics. Betsy is currently chairperson of the MCBFA's Ethics Committee.

Pinecoon Maine Coons has been a TICA Outstanding Cattery since the inception of TICA's cattery-certification program. This program requires our cattery (home) to be inspected annually by a licensed veterinarian; our cattery has always been rated Excellent, in accord with the standards set forth in the Voluntary TICA Responsible Breeder Program.  

Pinecoon Maine Coons holds a hobby cattery license issued by King County in the state of Washington (license #0434674). To qualify for a King County license, a cattery must meet stringent requirements regarding animal care, cattery construction, number of animals, and adherence to local zoning laws, and must be inspected annually by a license inspector. Each of our cats is also licensed individually with King County.
